5 Crucial Effects of Online Classes on Kids Performance

Due to the ongoing pandemic Covid-19, there has been a nationwide lockdown due to which offline classes have transformed into online classes. This has not only impacted school admissions in Gurgaon but also has made it difficult for the parents to choose the best school for their kids. Teachers and school infrastructure are trying hard to bridge the gap between offline classes and online classes but some crucial effects are adversely affecting the kids’ performance.

Effects of Online Classes on Kids Performance

As schools and other educational institutions are shut down due to lockdown, various schools including Pragyanam School are providing online classes to their students. This is done so that students’ learning doesn’t get impacted. But the rising trend of online classes is somewhere, or the other is causing crucial effects on kid’s performance. Here are some key effects that you, as parents, need to look after.

1. Lack of Self-Motivation

The learning environment that kids get while attending online classes is not as effective as they get during offline classes. Since in most families, both parents are working, there is no proper monitoring of kids by parents or teachers. Further, there is no peer pressure or competition, thereby kids fail to complete their assignments on time.

2. No Practical Knowledge

At an early stage of life, kids need both theoretical as well as practical knowledge. But due to online classes, the kids are not able to get practical knowledge. So, they are basically doing “ratification” rather than understanding the concepts.

3. Risk for Myopia

Due to online classes, screen time for students has comparatively increased. The continuous gazing and exposure to radiation are harming the eyes of the kids. As kids are using different screens without maintaining an optimal distance, the risk for myopia among kids is rising.

4. Rise in Anxiety Level

No social interaction and no playing outside are the two basic reasons that are raising the anxiety level of the kids. With parents “working-from-home”, kids don’t get enough time to play with parents too. This anxiety level, caused due to online classes, is affecting the kids’ mental health.

5. Information Gap

Since all the families can’t afford the Internet or electronic gadgets like smartphones, tablets, or laptops, the information gap among students is rising. Further, if there is affordability, there may be a lack of accessibility due to which the students are missing their classes. They are neither able to cope up with their studies nor are able to get the proper information from their teachers or peers.

Conclusion

At present, searching for the best CBSE School in Gurgaon is difficult for parents. Though online classes may seem to be the best alternative for time being, they can harm the kids’ performance in the long run. Also, lack of practical knowledge and communication is hampering the social skills of the kids. Thus, online classes are not only adversely affecting physical health but also mental health.
